“Living the Dream”
One of my favourite areas of the world to photograph a wedding is the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. So lush and quaint, very laid back but also effortlessly styled. Bendooley Estate is quintessentially Southern Highlands; and I was rapped when Adam and Bridget asked me to photograph their wedding to be held there.
Adam and Bridget decided upon a ‘First Look’, meeting each other underneath the big oak tree down by the lake on the Estate. I have to admit, I wasn’t sold on First Looks until I saw these two, just bursting with love and excitement as they lay eyes on each other, knowing that in a few short hours they would be man and wife. There is something to be said about sharing a few private moments together before joining your loved ones to celebrate your union.
Adam and Bridget were like two school kids with a crush, always having a sneaky glance, a shy smile, always absentmindedly reaching out and touching each other’s arms or backs, just connecting. During his speech, Adam spoke of how he was still in a bit of shock that this beautiful and sophisticated woman had accepted his proposal in marriage; he was “living the dream”. It really gave me the warm and fuzzies to witness them together. Adam and Bridget, may you continue to inspire those around you and each other for years to come.
